The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) is a school within the Communications and Creative Industries faculty of Edith Cowan University. Edith Cowan University (ECU is located in Perth, Western Australia. The school is located in the suburb of Mount Lawley, Perth, Western Australia. It is regarded as one of Australia's best music, theatre and drama schools, along with the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). The National Institute of Dramatic Art ( NIDA) is an Australian national training institute for students of Theatre, Film, and Television It has courses in acting, music theatre, dance, production design, arts management and music. Acting is the work of an Actor or Actress, which is a person in Theatre, Television, Film, or any other Storytelling Musical theatre is a form of Theatre combining Music, Songs spoken Dialogue and Dance. Dance (from French danser, perhaps from Frankish) is an Art form that generally refers to movement of the body usually rhythmic Production designer is a term used in the movie and Television industries to refer to the person responsible for the overall look of a filmed event such as films Music is an Art form in which the medium is Sound organized in Time. Acceptance to the Performing Arts courses is by audition only.
