Waterview Tower is a mixed used development under construction in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Chicago (ʃɪˈkɑːgoʊ is the largest City by population in the state of Illinois and the American Midwest of the United States. According to sources at Teng Construction, and a Chicago Tribune business news article, funding for the project has been difficult to secure. However, it was announced on April 16, 2008 that a $300MM dollar loan was secured from a Chinese bank.
Nonetheless, all construction at the site had been stopped for over a week, and a notice of natural gas termination was posted to the main entry gate on April 30, 2008, suggesting that perhaps not all the financial woes are fully resolved.

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will make its debut in the United States by occupying floors 12 through 27 of the building with a 5-star hotel containing 200 hotel condominium units. Waterview Tower will have parking for guest and residents on floors 2 to 11. The Shangri-La Hotel will occupy floors 12 through 27 with 200 hotel condominiums. The Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts () is a Hotel chain based in Hong Kong. A setback at the 29th floor level will hold a rooftop garden in addition to being the amenities level for all building guests and residents.  The remaining 30 through 88 floors will comprise of 233 condominium and penthouse residences. 
The Waterview Tower will be a concrete building with an exterior wall made of glass, granite and aluminum to generate a prismatic look.
