Road
Perth has a road network with three freeways, nine metropolitan highways and no toll roads.
The Northbridge tunnel, otherwise known as the Graham Farmer Freeway was built in the year 2000 for a number of reasons. Freight
Rail freight terminates at the Kewdale Rail Terminal, 15 kilometres south-east of the city centre. Kewdale Freight Terminal is a large intermodal rail facility in the Perth suburb of Kewdale, Western Australia.
Perth's main container and passenger port is at Fremantle, 19 kilometres south west at the mouth of the |Swan River. History

Trams
The first trams began operating in 1899 between East Perth and West Perth along Hay Street.
