Sports Colleges were introduced as part of the Specialist Schools Programme in the United Kingdom. The specialist schools programme is a UK government initiative which encourages Secondary schools in England to specialise in certain areas of the curriculum The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK or Britain,is a Sovereign state located The system enables secondary schools to specialise in certain fields, in this case, PE, sports and dance. Education in England is the responsibility of the Department for Children Schools and Families and the Department for Innovation Universities and Skills of the Sport is an Activity that is governed by a set of rules or Customs and often engaged in competitively Dance (from French danser, perhaps from Frankish) is an Art form that generally refers to movement of the body usually rhythmic Schools that successfully apply to the Specialist Schools Trust and become Sports Colleges will receive extra funding from this joint private sector and government scheme. The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation in the United Kingdom, working in partnership with schools to Sports Colleges also act as a local point of reference for other schools and businesses in the area, with an emphasis on promoting sports within the community.
