Description

The city merged with the Town of Horai and the Village of Tsukude on October 1, 2005 and became the 2nd largest city by area in Aichi Prefecture, only behind the city of Toyota. was a town located in Minamishitara District, Aichi, Japan. Places of Interest

Sakurabuchi(桜ぶち)is a large park in central Shinshiro. It is located just across from the city library. It is highly regarded by those in surrounding cities for its beauty during the cherry blossom season. The Toyo river runs through the center of the park. There is a small car show held in the beginning of October in the northwest parking lot.

High Schools

There are two High Schools in Shinshiro. Shinshiro Higashi Kougakoukou(₰) and Shinshiro Kougakoukou(৳). Shishiro Higashi is the more academic of the two. Shinshiro Kougakoukou offers an agricultural studies program for students, and even has a farm on school grounds where students gain experience. Both have a near even enrollment.
