The Salisbury Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties on Maryland's Eastern Shore, anchored by the city of Salisbury. The United States Census Bureau (officially Bureau of the Census as defined in Title) is the government agency that is responsible for the United States Census The Eastern Shore of Maryland is composed of the state's nine counties east of the Chesapeake Bay. Salisbury (ˈsælzbəri or /sɔːɫzbəɹi/ is the County seat of Wicomico County Maryland. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 109,391 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 119,616). [1]

The Salisbury–Ocean Pines Combined Statistical Area is made up of three counties located along Maryland's Eastern Shore. Ocean Pines is a Census-designated place (CDP in Worcester County, Maryland, United States. The statistical area includes one metropolitan area and one micropolitan area.
