[1]The UWA Perth International Arts Festival is a cultural festival held in Western Australia. An arts festival or art fair is a Festival that focuses on the Visual arts, but which may also focus on other arts Western Australia is a state occupying the entire western third of the Australian continent. The festival was created in 1953 by the University of Western Australia, making it the oldest international arts festival in Australia. The University of Western Australia (UWA is the oldest university in the state of Western Australia. Activities include theatre, dance, music, film, visual arts and literature, occurring right across the state. [2]
Lotterywest has financially supported the festival since 1992. Lotterywest, formerly the Lotteries Commission of Western Australia, is an Australian lotteries corporation run by the State Government of In 2004 it committed to providing up to $16 million dollars over 4 years (2004-2007). [3]
