Palm Beach Opera is a professional opera company located in West Palm Beach, FL and is a member of OPERA America[1] and Americans for the Arts. Opera is an art form in which Singers and Musicians perform a Dramatic work (called an opera which combines a text (called a Libretto West Palm Beach, also known as West Palm, is the most populous city in Palm Beach County, Florida, USA. Opera America, officially OPERA America, is a service organization in North America promoting the creation presentation and enjoyment of Opera. Americans for the Arts is a Nonprofit organization for advancing the Arts in the United States. Founded in 1961 as Civic Opera of the Palm Beaches, the organization is currently in their 45th season. Palm Beach Opera currently offers four fully staged opera productions during an annual season at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts. The Raymond F Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is a Performing arts center in downtown West Palm Beach Florida. The company's 2007-2008 season productions include: Puccini's Turandot, Beethoven's Fidelio, Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore, and Verdi's La Traviata. L'elisir d'amore ( The Elixir of Love) is a Melodramma giocoso in two acts by the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti.
