Fiat Powertrain Technologies released information about new twin stage turbo (twin turbo) version of this engine in summer 2007, engine is available with two power levels, first one is producing 180 PS (178 hp/132 kW) and second one 190 PS (187 hp/140 kW), both have a maximum torque output of 400 N·m (295 ft·lbf) at 2000 rpm. 180 PS version production started summer 2007.
