She told him about his mentor's rape incident in a rage, and Yang Guo slapped her in the face. They fought briefly, but having been poisoned, Yang Guo did not have strength to resist. Putting his arm up to defend himself against Guo Fu's sword, Guo Fu severed Yang Guo's right arm. Later, Guo Jing wanted to punish her by cutting her arm off, he was only stopped by his wife, Huang Rong.

She married Yelü Qi (耶律齊), who later became the new leader of Beggars' Sect (丐帮). Beggars' Sect ( is a fictional organization often appearing in Chinese Wuxia novels most notably those by Jin Yong and Gu Long. At the end of the novel she finally was at peace with Yang Guo after he rescued her husband from the Mongolian army.

It is unknown of her fate after Xiangyang was finally conquered, since her parents and brother died after defending the city.
