The Gulf South is a region of the United States that consists of parts of Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas; all of which border the Gulf of Mexico on the Gulf Coast of the United States. The Gulf South is subject to frequent tropical storms and hurricanes which may disrupt society for months.
